Hi guys, Tabitha here. Thanks for stopping by.

I’m a copywriter/ content creator in the process of leaving life in frantic Sydney Australia with my jewellery artist man-friend Carl and our van Ness. I’ve been living in the inner west suburb of Marrickville for the past 11 years trying to make it work. As much as I love the creative culture of my local community, I’ve struggled with the pace of life, the pollution, the disconnection from the natural environment and the obscene cost of living.

I’ve tried to do things differently to the standard Sydney way of operating; I’ve chosen to work part-time and attempted to live as sustainably as possible (joining a local food co-op, foraging, bartering and starting a compost collective in my building). I’ve surrounded myself with genuine humans who live nearby and have flexibility for impromptu catch-ups and zero tolerance for bullshit. But even the act of standing against the dominate culture of Sydney takes more energy than I have in me to sustain.

It’s taken its toll on my physical and mental health and on our marriage and I’ve known for some time that we need to make a change. It’s scary, but it’s happening. I hope you can join me on this adventure as I try to create a simpler, more natural life.

First stop: Tasmania.
